ELECTIONS: NIS warns ECOWAS community against participation

LAGOS—The Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command, Mrs Justina Ahmedu yesterday warned ECOWAS nationals living in the state not to get themselves involved in the forth coming election, threatening to repatriate any erring alien.

The warning is coming on the heels of the arrest of some aliens with Permanent Voters Cards, PVC, by officials of the command.

As at yesterday, a 54 year-old Ghanaian and his 23 year-oldchild arrested with PVCs were repatriated by the command.

In a meeting with some ECOWAS community leaders at the Alagbon office of the immigration service yesterday, Ahmedu stated emphatically that the service would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that aliens did not participate in the forth coming elections.
