The ranks of the Super Eagles invited for this weekend’s Nations Cup qualifier against Congo in Calabar swelled Tuesday with the arrival of the Euro-based players. This is just as midfielder, John Obi Mikel dished out hand gloves to colleagues in a bid to fight the dreaded Ebola Virus disease.
Mikel, Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi, Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Juwon Oshaniwa, Sone Aluko and Austin Ejide hit Calabar just in time to join the rest of the team for lunch, bringing the number of players to 17.
Mikel brought a comic relief to the camp as he brandished his hand gloves.

“Coach I have up to
four hand gloves and if you don’t mind, I can hand one pair to you,” Mikel said and he was greeted with laughter from teammates.
Meanwhile coach Stephen Keshi is unhappy with the non release of Mikel’s former Flying Eagles teammate Chinedu Obasi who is making a comeback to the Eagles after a long absence. He has not been released by his club, Schalke 04. They claimed that Obasi’s passport is held up by a Champions League registration.
Also Keshi has replaced absentee captain Vincent Enyeama with El-Kanemi Keeper David Obiozor.
“We have been monitoring the Nigerian league and we see that the keeper of Elkanemi is a talent that is why we want to give him a trial. We will see how it turns out when he arrives in camp”, Keshi said after lunch on Tuesday.
