Cameroon refuse to travel to Brazil

The Cameroon national football team are refusing to go to the World Cup after a row breaks out over bonus pay.   Cameroon's players refused to board a plane due to take them to Brazil for the World Cup because of disputes over bonuses, according to a newspaper report. This has created an ugly stand-off between the players and their governing federation which is likely to require FIFA's intervention. Cameroon are in the same group as host nation Brazil, who kick off the tournament against Croatia on June 12. Inflated bonus expectations The website of a French newspaper says the players were due to fly out from Yaounde but refused because the World Cup bonuses they are being offered are not what they expected. Cameroon played two recent friendly matches, drawing 2-2 with Germany and beating Moldova 1-0 after which tensions within the squad increased according to reports. Cameroon had similar disagreements before the 2002 World Cup and are due to play Mexico in Group A.
